We are looking to add an Early Childhood Social Worker to our cheerful team who dares to think outside the sandbox and find creative solutions to everyday situations. As an Early Childhood Social Worker you will support the well-being of children and families, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and you will apply positive pedagogical interaction skills. You will plan, assess, and implement pedagogical activities in early childhood education and support each child's individual learning according to Helsinki’s early childhood education and pre-school plan, unit plan, and the child’s needs together with the team. You will build the culture and learning environment of your group and support the childs social growth as a member of the community and society, bringing communal, social-pedagogical perspectives to the work to promote equality. Requirements: You must have at least a higher education degree in social and health care, including at least 60 study credits in early childhood education and social pedagogy, or a degree as a social worker supplemented with the mentioned studies (540/2018 27§). The qualification can also be met by an external recognition decision according to the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health. In addition, you must have good Finnish language skills, both spoken and written. The selected person must present a valid criminal background check for working with children (504/2002). A TB clearance for respiratory tuberculosis for under school-age children will be checked (Tartuntatautilaki § 55). When starting a permanent employment as a social worker in Helsinki in 2026 we offer a 2000 EUR signing bonus, paid only once to the same person.
