Job Details

Responsibilities

  • Debug intermittent and persistent camera capture issues across the MIPI CSI-2 link on TI TDA4 hardware
  • Analyze protocol-level traces (D-PHY/C-PHY) using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol decoders
  • Debug and modify Linux kernel V4L2 subdevice drivers, media controller pipelines, and device tree camera bindings
  • Work with TI's Processor SDK, Vision Apps, and TIOVX framework for capture/ISP pipeline issues
  • Collaborate with hardware/PCB teams on signals integrity issues (lane skew, termination, EMI)
  • Integrate and validate third-party image sensors and GMSL/FPD-Link bridges
  • Document root cause analyses and drive fixes through to closure with sensor vendors, TI, or internal hardware teams
  • Support automotive functional safety documentation where applicable

Requirements

  • 5+ years embedded Linux driver development experience, with direct MIPI CSI-2 camera work
  • Strong understanding of CSI-2 protocol: D-PHY/C-PHY layers, packet structures, virtual channels, data types, ECC/CRC
  • Hands-on experience with V4L2 / Media Controller framework, videobuf2, device tree configuration for camera endpoints
  • Proficiency with hardware debug tools: oscilloscope, logic analyzer, protocol analyzer for CSI-2/D-PHY
  • Direct experience with TI Jacinto (TDA4VM/TDA4VH) platforms, PSDK, TIOVX/Vision Apps
  • Experience integrating image sensors and/or GMSL/FPD-Link deserializers (Maxim, TI DS90UBxx) in automotive contexts
  • Strong debugging methodology — able to isolate issues across sensor, PHY, driver, and ISP layers
  • Proficient in C, kernel debugging tools (ftrace, dynamic debug, dmesg), and scripting (Python/Bash)
  • Preferred / Bonus Skills: Experience with TI VPAC/ISP tuning and image quality pipelines
  • Automotive functional safety experience (ISO 26262, ASIL-rated camera links)
  • Multi-camera synchronization experience in ADAS systems
