About the role

We are hiring an Engineering Manager for Ubuntu Hardware Certification Quality Engineering, to lead the team responsible for the test suites which validate hardware compatibility with Ubuntu Linux. The role involves managing a team, developing test strategies, and collaborating with partners to ensure hardware certification success.

Job Details

Responsibilities

Lead the development and maintenance of hardware certification test suite
Manage timely delivery of certifications
Collaborate to improve test practices and tools
Build and lead a distributed team of engineers
Develop talent through coaching and mentoring
Set expectations with stakeholders
Participate in engineering reviews
Engage with open source community and partners
Travel twice a year for company events

Requirements

Knowledge of low-level embedded software and hardware BIOS, firmware, bootloaders, ACPI, devicetree, kernel, RTOS
Good understanding of Linux system architecture
Knowledge of quality and reliability engineering practices
Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu)
