Job Description
We have a position for you as a restaurant shift manager. We are looking for an experienced shift manager for the team at Scandic Hamburger Börsi, to a permanent position in the Spanish-influenced Más restaurant of the hotel. The position is full-time, 112.5 hours / 3 weeks, with work primarily during evening hours according to restaurant opening times. The employment begins as agreed in early autumn 2026. Your responsibilities as a restaurant shift manager include overseeing the operation of the à la carte restaurant during your shift, guiding the team to create an efficient and positive working atmosphere, and ensuring compliance with Scandic’s concepts. You will be responsible for customer feedback and achieving targets. Additionally, you will naturally focus on upselling, motivate the team to deliver a sales-oriented customer experience, and provide excellent and immediate customer service. You will also have the opportunity to develop the teamwork in the dining area and kitchen, as well as the food and beverage offerings. Your tasks include administrative duties such as shift planning, placing orders, and inventory checks. You may also act as a supervisor for other F&B departments if needed. In addition, as a restaurant shift manager, you are expected to have previous experience in restaurant work (à la carte and/or banquet operations). Prior supervisory experience is not mandatory but considered an advantage. Possess good knowledge of food and beverages. Have an inspiring sales-oriented attitude and interest in developing customer experience through sales. Demonstrate excellent teamwork skills and a passion for customer service. Be flexible, courageous, and solution-oriented in unexpected situations. Be fluent in Finnish and have good communication skills in English. Salary according to the Travel, Restaurant, and Leisure Services Collective Agreement, €2,480-2,692 / month depending on experience. Negotiable depending on the agreement.
