The Oulu Region Environmental Office, a municipal authority for environmental protection, environmental health care and veterinary authority in seven municipalities, is seeking an Environmental Health Inspector for a fixed-term position from 26 October 2026 to 16 April 2027. The responsibilities of the Environmental Health Inspector include monitoring, permitting, guidance and advisory tasks related to special legislation on environmental protection, and acting as a legal expert. Eligibility requires either a Bachelor or Master of Laws, or a Master’s degree in Administrative Sciences with a major in environmental law. If no candidate with the above degree is available, another higher-education degree suitable for the Environmental Health Inspector post may be accepted. The role requires initiative and an active work approach, ability to work independently, and clear written and spoken Finnish. A valid B driver’s license is also required. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills are advantageous. The position includes a two-month probationary period.
