Environmental Inspector

The Oulu region environmental office operates as the municipal environmental protection, environmental health, and animal health authority across seven municipalities. We are now seeking an Environmental Inspector for a fixed-term position from 26 October 2026 to 16 April 2027. The Environmental Inspector's duties include supervisory, licensing, guidance and advisory tasks related to special legislation in environmental protection, and acting as a legal expert. The qualification required is a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law or a Master’s degree in Administrative Sciences with a major in environmental law. If the above degree is not available, another suitable higher education degree for the Environmental Inspector post is accepted. The job requires an autonomous and proactive work attitude, ability to work independently, and clear written and spoken Finnish. A valid B-driver's license is also required. Good interpersonal and teamwork skills are an advantage. The position has a two‑month probationary period.
