Research Funding Specialist

The position is at the University of Vaasa in the Research Services and Doctoral School unit, focusing on research funding, responsible and open science, research policy, and doctoral training. The main task is to prepare and develop research funding applications in close collaboration with researchers and research groups, especially for Horizon Europe ERC and Pillar II thematic actions. The role includes advising researchers through the entire grant process, from ideation to submission, including budgeting, and participating in EU advocacy and strategic development of research funding. The job requires a Master’s degree, strong knowledge of EU funding (ERC and Horizon Europe Pillar II), experience with EU project applications, excellent English, fluent Finnish, ability to handle deadlines, good writing, networking, and coordination skills. An ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects is valued; a PhD and EU networks are a plus.
