Business Development Associate

This vacancy is a part-time contract position in Tokyo, Japan, supporting VRChat’s Japan partnerships and business development. You will work closely with the Head of Japan Growth and other internal teams to coordinate partner relations, project progress, contract-related processes, and execution of various initiatives. The role combines partner relationship management with hands-on operational duties, requiring autonomous task management, speed, and strong organizational skills. Responsibilities include coordinating with domestic and international partners, creators, and internal stakeholders; managing communications, scheduling, and follow-ups for partnerships and alliances; drafting and adjusting contracts and managing closing processes; handling multi-project schedules, meetings, and action items; preparing meeting minutes, presentations, and reports; coordinating with global teams in English; supporting events, promotions, collaborations, and partner programs in the Japanese market; conducting market and competitive research and handling miscellaneous administrative tasks as needed. Must-have experience: 4–5 years of business experience; coordination with partner companies, vendors, and external stakeholders; contract-related processes and business operations support; native-level Japanese and business-level English; strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities; proactive, detail-oriented, and reliable project ownership; excellent writing and verbal communication skills. Desirable: startup experience, entertainment/gaming/XR/creator economy experience, cross-cultural collaboration, and interest in VRChat, virtual worlds, creator platforms, and UGC ecosystems. Work style: part-time contractor, approximately 30–40 hours per month, daytime weekday availability, with occasional in-person meetings in Tokyo as needed.
