Early Childhood Education Teacher

We are seeking a permanent early childhood education teacher for Havukallion day care to start on 1 September 2026. Havukallion day care is located in a nature-rich residential area with good transport links. Nature is an important part of the children's learning environment, and we make use of the local surroundings in our activities. The area's multiculturalism enriches our daily life and brings different perspectives, experiences and cultures to our work. Our day care has five groups; facilities have recently been renovated, so you will work in modern group spaces and, together with other staff, help build functional and inspiring learning environments. We want to meet each child warmly and strive to create a safe, joyful and playful everyday life. It is important to meet every child individually, notice their strengths, and encourage and praise. Play is a central part of our work, as is child participation, interests and shared wonder. Our pedagogy emphasizes supporting emotional and social skills as well as language development. We want each child to have the opportunity to learn, try and succeed in a safe atmosphere. The pedagogical support for the groups includes a special education teacher and a development-focused teacher. Our unit also uses ProVaka activity model (Positive group-based early childhood education). You will be part of a professional team. We have an experienced staff, and collaboration is essential; we support each other and humor has a place in the workday. Our unit also serves as a field day care for student teachers studying early childhood education, so you may mentor and share professional expertise with future professionals. Conditions of service are governed by the Municipal Education Personnel collective agreement (OVTES). Salary: 3129.71–3234 EUR/month. Additional monthly amounts of 15 EUR for those with the required qualification and 37.88 EUR for those with a Master of Education degree. Experience-based pay increases of 3–8%.
