About the role

**Come and help build something completely new. Do you want to do meaningful work in demanding intellectual disability services and be part of establishing the operations of a brand-new unit? Now is a unique opportunity.** We are seeking practical nurses for permanent, full-time positions at Vihdin Validia-talo, which opens later this year. In this role, you will support the daily lives of clients with intellectual disabilities and those on the autism spectrum, and help build the operational culture of the new unit from its very first days. Vihdin Validia-talo is an 18-place demanding service unit for clients with intellectual disabilities and those on the autism spectrum. The unit consists of five group homes and is designed to meet the individual needs of clients requiring demanding support. The core of the operations is the client's quality of life, a safe daily routine, and a high-quality, rehabilitative approach. **What does the role involve?** As a practical nurse, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and be responsible for the daily care, guidance, and implementation of a rehabilitative daily routine for clients. You will support clients' participation, functional capacity, and quality of life according to their individual needs. The work includes guidance and care tasks as well as collaboration with clients' loved ones and other networks. Presence, interaction skills, and the ability to meet clients with diverse support needs are emphasized. You will build the unit's operating methods together with the new work community and influence how the unit's daily life is shaped. The work is three-shift work. **What do we hope for from you?** We value experience in the field of intellectual disabilities and working with clients on the autism spectrum. Expertise in NEPSY and experience working with clients requiring demanding support, mental health rehabilitation, or demanding child welfare is considered an advantage. We hope you have the ability to meet different people calmly, consistently, and in a client-oriented manner, even in challenging situations. We value expertise in alternative communication methods, such as the use of pictures or supported sign language. You work responsibly and independently, but you also know how to utilize the strengths of the team and multidisciplinary cooperation. The launch of a new unit requires flexibility, a positive attitude toward development, and a desire to build operations together. Our values—Respect, Expertise, Fluidity, and Responsibility—are visible in our daily lives every day. Everyone has the right to a dignified life, and both clients and employees are heard. We learn from each other, lead by listening, and keep our promises. **We offer you** - The opportunity to participate in the launch of a completely new unit - Planned orientation based on your expertise - Support from a skilled and encouraging work community and expert network - Training and development opportunities - Salary according to the collective agreement for the private social services sector G20C, plus a unit-specific supplement - Employment benefits, such as Epassi and leisure-time accident insurance - Work-ability oriented occupational health care that is more extensive than the statutory requirement **We require from you** - A degree as a practical nurse - Registration as a licensed social care professional in JulkiSuosikki - Vaccination protection according to Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a tuberculosis certificate according to Section 55 - Presentation of a criminal record extract in accordance with the Act on the Supervision of Social and Health Care - Fluent Finnish language skills - A hygiene passport **Apply to help build something new** We hope you can start in the position in mid-October, allowing you to participate in the preparation and launch of the new unit before it opens in early November. Please note that we only process applications submitted via the application form. The application period is until August 30. Interviews will be held on September 9-10 at our head office in Ruskeasuola, Helsinki, so please plan for this when submitting your application. Further information about the position can be provided by recruitment specialist Mira Haukka by phone 044 478 4368 or email rekry@validia.fi. **Recruitment process** We strive for fair recruitment where your specific expertise can shine. In this recruitment, we utilize Hubert.ai AI interviews. After submitting your application, you will be invited to a chat-based interview with our virtual recruitment assistant, Hubert. The interview takes about 15-20 minutes and can be completed at a time that suits you. However, we recommend starting it soon to ensure the recruitment process proceeds smoothly. The AI-based interview serves only as a support tool; all final evaluations and decisions are made by a human. Applicants proceeding to the final stage of recruitment will be asked for contact details of referees. We collect referee feedback via the Refapp application.
