Hangon city's Education Department seeks an economic secretary for a permanent position starting 1 November 2026 or earlier by agreement. The economic secretary will work at the Education Department's office on a diverse set of financial administration tasks and will gain a broad view of the department's finances. The department is responsible for early childhood education, basic education, upper secondary education, and youth and sports services. The secretary works in the department's common administration and supports the sector's financial administration in close cooperation with various units. We look for a person who can work independently and has a friendly, flexible and service-oriented approach. Tasks include: participating in budget preparation and closing work, invoicing (customer invoicing, home municipality reimbursements, early childhood education charges), preparation of charges for early childhood and after-school care, reviewing and approving supplier invoices, tracking state subsidies and other grants, financial reporting and statistics. Daily tools include Pro Economica Premium, Opiferus, CGI Vesa and Dynasty; the secretary is the main user of Vesa and the national data warehouse Varda. Previous experience with these systems is advantageous. Requirements include a merkonomi/tradenom or equivalent degree and excellent skills in one domestic language and good skills in the other.
