Rovaniemi City has 21 primary schools. Primary education is general education with both upbringing and teaching duties. The aim is to support students’ growth as people and as members of society and to provide eligibility for further studies in secondary education. In basic education, substitute roles include class teachers, subject teachers, special education teachers and guidance counselors. Indicate in your application which substitute positions you are interested in and when you are available. Eligibility requirements are set by the Decree on Qualifications for Educational Personnel (986/1998). If a substitute cannot be filled with a eligible person, a temporary appointment may be chosen for a person with adequate training and skills required by the task. Short-term substitutes may apply, for example, by education and youth sector students or other persons with sufficient relevant training and skills. We require good cooperation and interpersonal skills, flexibility and initiative. In addition, at least 18 years of age and adequate Finnish language skills are required. Prior experience in similar tasks and student- and wellbeing-oriented working approach are valued. Registration for substitutes is done by filling the electronic application at www.kuntarekry.fi. Providing substitutes requires the applicant to ensure up-to-date contact and accessibility information. We will contact the job seeker to arrange an interview time. Those deemed suitable will be registered as accepted substitutes in the recruitment system.
