Meat and Fish Department Specialist

We are looking for a meat and fish specialist for a permanent position! K-Supermarket Kauhava is an unusually good grocery store in Kauhava. In addition to a traditional grocery store, we want to offer our customers surprises, new ideas and high-quality food solutions. We are a diverse and active store that responds strongly to the seasons and wants to continuously develop its operations. Our team is now being joined by a meat and fish specialist as the current role holder retires. The role is an important part of the store as a whole, and you will have the opportunity to take responsibility and develop the department using your expertise and ideas. Could you be our new meat and fish specialist? In your role, you will be responsible for the meat and fish department and service counter. Your work is varied and combines professional expertise, customer service, commercial thinking and the continuous development of the department. Your duties include, among other things: - Handling meat and fish and preparing products - Sales - Product selection and display at the service counter - Placing orders and managing the assortment - Pricing and displaying products - Developing the department’s sales and profitability - Planning and carrying out campaigns and seasonal activities - Marketing the department - Managing waste and stock - Customer service and helping customers choose products - Maintaining the department’s cleanliness and good hygiene We hope you have a visual eye and want to make the service counter attractive. You also understand the importance of key figures and how your department’s operations affect the business of the whole store. You will use various systems in your work and understand the importance of data-driven management in everyday decision-making. What kind of colleague are we looking for? We are looking for someone with strong expertise in handling meat and fish and a genuine interest in food and customer service. We expect you to have: - Strong previous work experience in the meat and fish sector; experience in the field is essential for the role - Professional meat and fish handling skills - A cheerful, open and customer-oriented service attitude - Initiative and the ability to take responsibility - An efficient, careful and systematic approach to work - The ability to cope under pressure and work in a busy environment - The ability to work independently and as part of a team - Commercial thinking and an interest in developing the department - Willingness to learn new things and develop your professional skills - Good Finnish language skills - At least 18 years of age A hygiene passport is essential for the role.
