Pastoral Worker

A vacancy for a diaconal worker opens in Kerimäki, where you will perform meaningful work alongside people in various life situations as part of the church’s shared mission. You do not need to be an experienced deacon yet; the parish offers room to grow and support from the broader diaconal team and the chapel parish. The deacon’s tasks include managing diaconal work for Kerimäki chapel parish, meeting people in individual, group and community work, and collaborating with church staff, volunteers and local partners. The role requires an independent work approach, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to plan and develop diaconal work according to local needs. Qualifications: as per the Church Council’s regulations (no. 162/2023) for the diaconal post; must be a confirmed member of the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Church; driving license and own car are required; prior parish work experience and initiative are valued.
