About the role

We are inviting energetic applicants to join six apprenticeship positions for the sport facility sector with a vocational qualification starting in November 2026. The apprentices will study while working, with on-the-job learning beginning in November 2026 and in-person studies starting January 2027, primarily in the Helsinki metropolitan area. Work locations will vary by study modules. The program trains you to become a professional in various sport facility environments, covering customer service, facility operations, maintenance of equipment, and use of property technologies. The apprenticeship lasts about one year, with a detailed plan prepared for each student. The positions are temporary and the recruited will work in Helsinki’s sport services during the study. Duties include two-shift work, weekends included. Salary during study is 2417.97 €/month, with opportunities to increase earnings through shift bonuses. Upon graduation, there are possibilities for permanent sport facility attendant roles. Applicants should be positive, service-minded team players who understand diverse backgrounds in engaging people in sports. Preference is given to knowledge of city areas, equipment operation, and ICT skills. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, possess a basic education certificate, hold a T- or B-driver’s license, be able to swim 200 meters and perform physically, be willing to work two shifts including weekends, and have good Finnish language skills with other languages considered an asset. The city offers versatile and varied work in a pleasant environment with good employee benefits. Anonymised recruitment is practiced. Further information via Helsingin kaupungin liikuntapalvelut.
