Primer is the unified infrastructure for global payments. We give finance and payments teams the visibility and control to reduce complexity, improve performance, and capture more revenue - all from a single platform. We play a key role in helping merchants handle disputes and prevent fraud. The Protection team owns the risk management suite that surfaces these threats, and helps merchants build automation to handle them at scale. What will you be doing? Build the dispute dashboard from scratch - deadline visibility, evidence status, response tracking; Ship features end-to-end, with support from more senior engineers on scoping and architecture, across a lifecycle merchants are actively asking for; Turn fraud vendor comparisons into something merchants can actually see and act on, not just a backend integration; Own well-defined pieces of the native rules engine UI - surfacing velocity rules, blocklists, and fingerprinting signals in a way non-technical merchant teams can actually use; Deploy your own work to production and monitor its impact, with more experienced engineers close by when you need them; Work directly with Product and your EM on a small team where your features are visible. What we're looking for: Experience shipping production ready frontend features, with growing autonomy and less need for hand-holding on the basics; Solid grasp of API design fundamentals and how to build for performance as usage grows; Comfortable writing tests and thinking through edge cases and error handling; Genuine care about the details of what you ship. Nice to have: Exposure to fraud, risk, disputes, or another operationally sensitive domain; Experience building dashboards or admin tooling from a blank slate; Comfortable working with APIs; Willingness to contribute to our Python backend when needed. What you should know: This team is new enough that some structure - on-call rotas, tooling, conventions, you'll be building it alongside doing the actual work; Real ambiguity in the early days: you will be the one deciding what "good" looks like before anyone else has an opinion; A handful of people today, so your individual output is highly visible. Our benefits: fully remote, competitive share options, uncapped holiday, co-working access, workations & company retreat, equipment, home office stipend, learning budget, private medical insurance, and location-dependent extras. The company believes in equal treatment and inclusivity.
