Welcome to the role of early childhood education child caregiver at Vanttilan päiväkoti in Espoo. We are looking for a child caregiver for a 3-5 year-old group for a fixed-term position. You will work with a team that includes a kindergarten teacher and another child caregiver. The Vanttila early childhood unit consists of five groups in the day-care and preschool groups operating in school premises. Vanttila is a pleasant, calm, nature-oriented area where we can easily utilize the nearby forest, sports facilities, and surrounding nature to support a rich and diverse early childhood education. We are a positive and experimental work community. We aim to offer children a joyful learning atmosphere, unhurriedness, and an open embrace. As a child caregiver, you are responsible for the safe daily activities of each child in early childhood education. You design and implement pedagogical practices in accordance with your team’s early childhood plan and group plan, using your strengths to contribute to the team and to the joy of the child group. We place a strong emphasis on physical activity and enabling movement in the children’s activities, which are targets for development this season across Finnish early childhood education. Do you have special expertise in children’s physical activity or a desire to develop and introduce it? We value diverse skills and many kinds of work experience are beneficial in this role. You may be changing fields; we train all staff for their tasks and for our unit’s culture. The job site is Vanttilan päiväkoti, Nissintie 1, 02780 Espoo. Working hours: 38 h 15 min/week. The position is temporary for 15.9.2026–31.5.2027. We will consider all applications received during the application period. We can process applications and start interviews during the application period. The first interviews will take place on 10–11 September from 14:00–17:00. Eligibility requirement: as per Varhaiskasvatuslaki (540/2018, 28 § asetukset 753/2018 3 § and 4 §). A suitable qualification includes a vocational qualification in early childhood education and guidance or a social and health care basic qualification or another equivalent degree, including sufficiently broad child care, education and teaching modules. Applicants must present a criminal record extract as required by the Criminal Records Act. Tuberculosis screening is required for those working with preschool-age children.
