Care Assistant

We are seeking nine care assistants for Kinaporin Senior Center under a wage-subsidized employment scheme for residents of Helsinki. The position involves assisting residents with meals and small kitchen tasks, handling housekeeping duties such as laundry and clothing care, making beds and maintaining general cleanliness in collaboration with other staff. The role also includes social interaction with residents, outdoor activities, and accompanying tasks. The work is primarily standing and physically demanding, including lifting, carrying trays, and pushing wheelchairs. Shifts are in two rotations and include weekend work. We conduct interviews during the application period. In addition to an interesting and varied role, we offer extensive training and development opportunities. The role requires vaccination protection under the Infectious Diseases Act and TB screening under the relevant sections. A criminal background check for working with the elderly is required (Social and Health Care Supervisory Act). Additionally, you must be a unemployed Helsinki resident meeting at least one of the conditions listed in the ad (age 15–24, 50+, no secondary/upper secondary qualification or equivalent, eligible for integration plan, not employed in the last six months, or disability condition reducing chances of suitable work).
