Lifeguard / Swim Instructor

The fitness center and swimming hall in Veteli is busy with visitors, and we aim to provide meaningful wellbeing work. We are recruiting for a permanent position as a lifeguard/swim instructor who works with customer-oriented, motivating and developmental approach. The position will be filled on 1 October 2026 or by agreement. Weekly working hours are 38.25 h. The job includes day and evening shifts and possibly weekend work. In addition to core lifeguard and swim teaching duties, responsibilities include directing aqua workouts and possibly other physical activity groups, communication and marketing, event planning and implementation, organizing activities, using the booking system and invoicing, and participating in planning and development of the activity center and swimming hall operations. Successful performance requires good communication skills, positivity, activeness, organizational ability, responsibility and accuracy. Basic IT skills are also needed. Qualifications for the lifeguard/swim instructor role include training in the sports sector or another applicable qualification and we also value SUH lifeguard and/or swim instructor training. The job requires good swimming ability and the lifeguard test swimming will probably be conducted in spring 2027. First aid training and experience with lifeguarding/swim instruction/group leadership are considered advantages. The monthly base pay is 2315.11 euros plus possible experience-based additions. The trial period is six (6) months. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as per the Act on Background Checks for Working with Children within 30 days of starting work.
