Do you want to design and build data platforms that support clients’ business, analytics and use of AI? We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Platform Engineer for our Data & Analytics team, with strengths in Microsoft Fabric, data-platform architecture and taking solutions into production.
You will influence how our clients’ data platforms are built, from understanding their needs and making technical choices to implementation and deployment.
What is the role about?
You will design and implement modern data platforms for clients, particularly around Microsoft Fabric and Azure. You can see the platform as a whole and make well-founded architecture choices, while also enjoying hands-on development.
You will take part in the early stages of client projects to clarify needs, define solutions and plan implementation. Together with our other experts, you will build environments that reliably bring data from source systems to analytics and AI solutions. Your design will also account for platform security, manageability, performance, maintainability and readiness for AI use.
For example, you will:
Design data-platform architecture and select services and implementation approaches that suit client needs.
Build and deploy Fabric environments and take solutions from development into production.
Design and implement data integrations, pipelines, and data storage and processing solutions.
Help clients assess technical options, explain your recommendations and guide implementation with the project team.
Support sales through technical planning, solution presentations and proposal preparation.
Develop our Fabric and AI offering and shared practices and delivery models.
AI is part of this work. You understand how a data platform enables AI solutions in a client’s business, and want to develop your skills in this area. You also use AI in data-platform development and share your knowledge with colleagues.
You will work with data engineers, analytics and AI experts, and cloud architects. Our clients represent different industries and company sizes, giving you the opportunity to apply your skills in varied environments and business situations.
What we expect from you
You have several years of experience in data engineering and building modern data platforms. Your seniority shows in your ability to take responsibility for broader solutions: you clarify client needs, identify the key technical questions and turn plans into working solutions.
We hope you have:
Strong hands-on Microsoft Fabric skills and experience building and deploying data platforms.
Experience in architecture design and the ability to assess which solutions suit client needs.
Azure expertise and an understanding of how a data platform fits into the client’s wider IT environment.
Strong SQL skills and Python and/or PySpark skills for data processing and pipeline implementation.
An understanding of data modelling and use, so you can design platforms with analytics and other downstream needs in mind.
AI skills and an understanding of AI in data-platform contexts, for example through Microsoft AI services.
The ability to work directly with clients, define needs, discuss options and explain technical solutions.
Fluent Finnish and English. The work includes Finnish-language client collaboration, requirements definition and preparation of proposal materials.
Experience in consulting, technical presales and production engineering practices such as CI/CD, automation and DataOps is valued.
Experience with AI agents and connecting them to data platforms is an advantage. We also want you to be ready to actively learn new AI technologies as part of your work.
