About the role

Welcome to work at the small, warm Lippajärvi Montessori Daycare! We are seeking a Montessori teacher or Montessori educator for a permanent position in a group of children aged 3–6. The daycare operates under the Espoo City and is run by the parents’ association. Our setting is a warm, small, home-like daycare in Espoo’s Lippajärvi, in a country-house environment with an emphasis on calm, child-centered daily life. Our operation is based on Montessori pedagogy, focusing on each child's individual development and the belief that every child can grow, develop, and learn at their own pace. We have one 3–6-year-old group with 21 places, allowing a relaxed daily rhythm and individualized attention. The parents’ association plays a proactive role in the day-to-day development of the daycare. The role combines pedagogical responsibility, genuine child engagement, collaboration with families, and practical work. In addition to direct pedagogy, you will cooperate with colleagues to plan, implement, and develop Montessori-based early childhood education, observing children’s needs, supporting their growth and independence, and building trusting relationships with families. The daycare offers a supportive community and an engaged parents’ association. We welcome a kind, reliable, cooperative colleague who wants to do meaningful pedagogical work in a small, warm community. We look for a person with strong emotional intelligence, situational awareness, and the ability to understand everyday situations; a sensitive and respectful approach to children, teams, and families; strong teamwork and constructive, solution-focused working style; and the ability to respond to individual support needs with pedagogical approaches. We value someone who is truly present for the children and enjoys a collaborative environment where work is done together with care for others. The job involves close collaboration with colleagues to plan and develop Montessori-based early childhood education; you will be present in the children's daily life, observe their needs and interests, and support their growth, learning, and independence. Collaboration with families is central, building trusting and open relationships with parents and acting as a genuine educational partner. In a small community, every contribution matters, and you will have the opportunity to influence the daycare’s practices and work culture. The role combines pedagogical responsibility, authentic child engagement, collaboration with families, and practical hands-on work. We offer a unique, small, and cozy work community where every employee is important. A small group enables a calm daily life with time to engage with each child individually, monitor their development, and build meaningful relationships with both children and families. You will be supported by a dedicated team and an active parents’ association. We are seeking one open position that can be filled either as a permanent Montessori teacher/educator or as a fixed-term early childhood education social pedagogue. A Montessori-trained candidate is preferred, with a background in Montessori pedagogy and experience working in a Montessori environment. If such a candidate is not found, we may hire a fixed-term early childhood education social pedagogue until summer 2027, in which case Montessori training is not required but knowledge and interest in Montessori education is valued. We warmly welcome you to join the Lippajärvi Montessori Daycare community!
