Psychologist

We are seeking a Swedish-speaking psychologist for a maternity-leave replacement at the Swedish-language outpatient clinics of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry unit at HUS in Helsinki. The outpatient clinics operate at the Sörnäinen site, located in a central area with excellent transport connections. The staff have functional facilities and own offices. In the Swedish unit, two psychologists work as part of a multidisciplinary team. The team collaborates closely with other units in the region and the psychologists are part of Finland’s largest professional community working in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The Swedish-speaking clinics diagnose and treat moderate to severe mental health disorders in children aged 0–12 years. The multidisciplinary clinic team belongs to the Eastern region of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry but provides Swedish-language pediatric psychiatric specialist care centrally for the entire HUS region. For our patients, we offer individual, family, and group therapies in which psychologists participate, and we provide training for these activities. The outpatient work is led by a multidisciplinary leadership team and the workflows are clear. The vacant maternity-leave replacement will be filled starting 21 Oct 2026 or by agreement and ends 31 May 2027. There are good prospects for continuation after the temporary position. We offer clinical work as well as development- and project tasks according to the psychologist’s own interests. We support further education and provide thorough orientation, supervision, and line-management support. Some work can be done remotely and we can negotiate flexible working hours. The successful candidate must present a background-check issued under the Finnish Police Act for persons working with children. We require vaccination against infectious diseases for client- and patient-facing settings and a health-status report for working in health care facilities.
