Practical Nurse for Night Work with a Young Client

We are looking for a committed, warm-hearted practical nurse to provide night-time support to a young client in disability services in Kerava. There are plenty of casual shifts at the client’s home, so you can choose shifts that suit your situation and needs. Skilled nurses may also take shifts more widely elsewhere in Uusimaa. The work takes place at night in the client’s own home. As the night nurse, you will ensure the client’s safety, provide basic care and, when needed, medication and device-based care during the night, while helping the family sleep peacefully. The client and family speak English, so you will communicate fluently with them in English. Our home-based disability services use pay grade G22 for practical nurses under the private social services collective agreement. The hourly rate is €15.50–€17.55 depending on years of experience. Collective-agreement shift supplements, such as the night-work supplement, are paid in addition to the hourly rate. Casual work also includes holiday compensation. What we expect from you: Experience in care work with children or young people and in disability services. Good spoken and written English for communicating with the family, and good Finnish for documentation and cooperation with authorities. Readiness to work independently at night and a desire to provide independent, high-quality care. LOVE medication permits: valid permits are required. You can complete them through us if necessary. You must have a practical nurse qualification, registration in Valvira’s JulkiTerhikki register, and vaccination protection under section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act. Applicants who meet THL’s risk criteria must have a tuberculosis assessment under section 55 of the Act. We will check a criminal record extract for work with people with disabilities, older people and children. Applicants must also have a valid social and healthcare professional card (SOTE card), care-work experience and basic-care skills. This is casual work. The start date is agreed separately.
