Keski-Pohjanmaa Wellbeing Services County Soite has a lead instructor post available at its newly established child welfare unit. SOCIAL SERVICES PROFESSIONAL (UAS) / LEAD INSTRUCTOR POST / SOITE CHILD WELFARE UNIT We are recruiting a Bachelor of Social Services (UAS) for the lead instructor post at Soite’s child welfare unit. Help develop a new child welfare unit from the very beginning and apply for the post by 16:00 during 5–19 October 2026. Interviews are held during the application period. Soite’s new child welfare unit is a seven-place residential unit under the Child Welfare Act for children and young people aged 12–17. The unit provides round-the-clock specialist out-of-home care services. Our work aims to assess and map the child’s situation from both present and future perspectives. We do this in cooperation with the child’s close relations and other partners. A central goal of the work is to support and help children and families find ways and solutions to challenges related to a child’s care and upbringing. The unit offers children a safe home where they can live an ordinary daily life. In the midst of this ordinary routine, skilled staff support the child’s growth and development by providing age-appropriate care and attention. The rehabilitation services and special care a child needs are organised as an integral part of the unit’s everyday life in cooperation with other parties. In addition to guiding and educating children and young people, the lead instructor works closely on the child’s rehabilitation and on developing the unit’s activities together with the rest of the work team. The lead instructor substitutes for the unit’s service manager during absences and annual leave, and is then responsible for resourcing the operational unit and making decisions related to its activities. We require the successful applicant to have a university of applied sciences degree in social services, at least two years’ experience in child welfare out-of-home care, a hygiene passport and a driving licence. The work emphasises good interaction and collaboration skills, a customer-oriented attitude, independence and the ability to provide adult-led guidance.
