About the role

Welcome as a nurse to HUS Developmental Disabilities Psychiatry Ward in Lahti. Our creative, professional and forward-moving work community seeks to strengthen the team. We are motivated by the meaningful work we do. We are looking for two (2) nurses for the ward in Lahti on a permanent basis starting 1 October 2026 or by agreement. The ward primarily serves individuals with developmental disabilities who have complex needs related to autism spectrum, mental health disorders and challenging behaviour. The unit also provides care for unconditional special care. In this role you will care for patients using evidence-based methods and participate in evaluating whether diagnostic criteria are met with the team. The ward documents various assessments, tests and creates various operating models to support the daily life of patients with challenging behaviour. Our staff’s expertise focuses on supporting and guiding people with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum and their families. As a nurse you will also participate in developing activities as part of HUS specialized care. We offer 24/7 service. The work is in two-shift rotation. You can have long experience in the field or just starting; we value all kinds of competence. We expect from you: good communication and teamwork skills, customer-oriented and proactive approach, ability to treat every patient with respect and individually, stress tolerance and ability to operate in changing situations; experience in developmental disability or autism work is an advantage; interest in developing own and the work community’s operations. Finnish language proficiency for spoken and written language and Swedish language satisfactory spoken and written proficiency, or Swedish spoken and written proficiency and Finnish satisfactory spoken and written proficiency. We require infection protection as per the Infectious Diseases Act and a health statement regarding tuberculosis for healthcare units. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as required by the Social and Health Care Supervision Act (741/2023, supervision act).
