Healthcare Assistant

In Kulkurivalssi’s residential unit you will support residents’ good daily life, functioning and autonomy as part of a multidisciplinary team. Your role as a nurse aide in Kulkurivalssi 4 involves caring for elderly residents with multiple illnesses who require help in daily activities. The unit is client-centered and stimulating, with the aim of maintaining residents’ functional capacity and resources. As a Lähihoitaja you independently implement basic care, participate in medication administration after authorized, assess residents’ functional capacity and care needs, and create care plans. In assessments and planning you use the RAIs assessment system and the information it provides. Respect the resident’s autonomy and promote their ability to live independently with good quality of life and participation in decisions about their own care. End-of-life care is arranged primarily in the unit. You closely collaborate with residents’ relatives and work as part of a multidisciplinary care team. You also participate in supervising students. The work is on a three-shift pattern. In your role you are central to residents’ everyday life, providing safety, care and meaningful moments near Kuralan Village.
