Data Engineer is a role in the ICT innovations unit of the Tulli (Finnish Customs) to support the department responsible for statistics, data services, ICT production and development, material services and laboratory services. The ICT Innovations unit aims to provide ICT development implementation, support and innovation services for the Customs business, along with professional expertise for executing ICT projects and deploying solutions. The position is at Tulli in Helsinki. As a Data Engineer you will be responsible for the practical building, development and maintenance of Tulli’s lakehouse solutions, data storage architecture and ETL/ELT processes. You will design and implement reliable data flows and ensure data quality, performance and accessibility to meet organizational needs. You will use open-source technologies and modern data solutions, and participate in handling unstructured data and data masses required by AI and machine learning models. You will work in close cooperation with other ICT specialists, data analysts and business stakeholders.
