Healthcare Assistant

You will work at Hannakoti, which primarily offers enhanced round-the-clock residential care, with some short-term placements. Hannakoti is located in Dragsfjärd, Kemiönsaari, about 10 km from Taalintehdas and about 15 km from Kemiö. There are bus connections, but not very frequent. As a practical nurse, you are responsible for implementing client services with a rehabilitative approach, as well as planning, executing, and evaluating practical care and health promotion activities as part of a multidisciplinary team. Your daily work includes basic care, medication management, and oSKE activities, which support participation and social interaction. Your responsibilities also include planning and organizing work, informing, reporting, and documentation. You will take turns as the responsible nurse during shifts according to the schedule and participate in substitution arrangements under supervisor’s instructions. You will work closely with stakeholders related to residents’ care and well-being, maintain your professional skills, participate in developing the unit’s operations, and supervise students and orient new employees. The position is a responsible and versatile practical nurse role, where you will be part of a multidisciplinary team. You will also have the chance to maintain and develop your professional skills, participate in guiding students, and orienting new employees. We expect good communication and customer service skills, the ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure, empathy, and a genuine desire to work with the elderly. The role requires good Finnish or Swedish language skills and satisfactory skills in the other language. An advantage is a valid LOVe medication license, familiarity with RAI assessment tools, and experience in elderly residential services. The qualification requirement for the position is a professional degree in social and health care (practical nurse) or an earlier school-level qualification in the field, along with a valid registration in JulkiTerhikki and JulkiSuosikki registers.
