TJS Opintokeskus is a joint training and development organization of Akava and STTK that strengthens union education activities and promotes fair working life in Finland. The client‑oriented operations are based on a strong partnership with its owners Akava, STTK and their member unions and on digital-era ways of working. Do you want to lead a nationally influential training and development organization and help build a fair working life in Finland? With the current rector moving on to new challenges, we are recruiting a Rector for TJS Opintokeskus in Helsinki to lead the organization and take its development to the next stage. As rector you will be responsible for the comprehensive leadership of TJS Opintokeskus and for implementing the strategy. In your role you will - lead the center’s operations and development - be responsible for finances and the organization’s performance - develop customer‑oriented services in cooperation with member organizations - build and maintain strong collaboration networks - prepare matters for administration and ensure execution of decisions - lead staff and develop the working community - serve as the Secretary General of the Sivistysliitto (Federation for Civil Servants). We expect you to have - experience of demanding leadership roles and organizational development - experience and proven ability to act as a first‑line supervisor - a mindset for customer‑oriented operations and service development - the ability to operate actively in broad stakeholder groups - understanding of the union and labor market landscape - a suitable higher university degree and the rector qualification or readiness to obtain it - fluency in Finnish and readiness to work also in Swedish and English.
