Technical procurement and purchasing specialist

We are looking for a professional in technical procurement and purchasing to support Scandic Trading House’s growth. Oy Scandic Trading House Ltd is an import company owned by its member stores and founded in 2007. Our extensive range includes tools, small machinery, garden products, leisure products, household goods, lighting products and pet products. We import more than 1,000 products and source competitively priced products from around the world for our member stores. We are now looking for a professional in technical procurement and purchasing to be responsible for international sourcing, supplier cooperation and technical product documentation. We work as a small team, so the role is important and varied. The position suits both someone with experience and a university or university-of-applied-sciences student at the beginning of their career (for example, studying business or a technical field) who wants to develop into a procurement professional. Your responsibilities include: - International sourcing and purchasing, particularly from China - Participating in tender, price, delivery and contract negotiations - Placing and tracking purchase orders and managing delivery schedules - Gathering and checking product technical information together with the rest of the organisation - Managing user instructions, product documentation and conformity documents - Coordinating packaging requirements, product packaging and labels We expect you to have: - Suitable education or studies, for example in international trade or a business field - A genuine interest in international sourcing and supplier cooperation - Excellent Finnish language skills - Good spoken and written English - A systematic, careful and proactive approach to work The following are considered advantages: - Experience purchasing technical products and handling product documentation - Knowledge of CE marking, product safety and conformity - Experience with packaging labels, rating plates and product labels - Swedish language skills - Experience in importing or retail/wholesale purchasing We offer you: - A meaningful role in which you have a central part in developing Scandic’s procurement and purchasing operations - Varied duties involving international sourcing, technical products and documentation - Good onboarding and the opportunity to grow in the role, supported by a skilled team and a low-hierarchy organisation - Competitive total compensation that takes account of the requirements of the role and your experience or stage of studies Application process If you recognise yourself in the description above, submit your application as soon as possible.
