We are looking for an instructor for a new and developing job task where the work focuses on supporting the work of classroom teams in special classes for demanding support. A special education teacher serves as the instructor's partner. The goal of the mobile teacher-instructor partner model is to: - support the professional competence and multidisciplinary cooperation of the staff of demanding support special classes and the entire school - increase the pedagogical competence of the staff of demanding support special classes - strengthen daily operating practices and safe learning environments - guide the use of different methods to strengthen students' behavior, interaction, learning and functional capacity - support students' studies and participation in teaching in the current school. Strengthening the learning, interaction and functional capacity of students in demanding support special classes requires both pedagogical and guidance skills. The partner model combines these skills, bringing both a pedagogical and a guidance perspective to the classroom situation. The partner model enables real-time feedback, side-by-side doing, joint reflection, division of work for teams and development of structures. You will work in the schools of the City of Helsinki in special classes for demanding support. Your approach is mobile and you move between different schools and special classes for demanding support. You act as an easily accessible, solution-oriented expert in guidance skills for schools. You work in close cooperation with your teacher partner. Your work includes: 1. Providing practical guidance and tips for guidance solutions that strengthen students' functional capacity, self-regulation and participation in teaching and activities. 2. Supporting the work of the classroom team together with the teacher partner, e.g. developing the classroom team's daily structures, working methods and division of work, observing the classroom's operation and providing practical guidance, acting as a bridge builder between the classroom teacher and instructors if necessary. 3. Strengthening the competence of the staff in anticipating and managing challenging situations and transition situations by providing means to improve students' sense of security, interaction and learning. 4. Supporting the development of afternoon activities for students in demanding support Your city-level work is directed by the learning support unit and you and your partner work in close cooperation with the special planner of each area. You are part of the staff of Sophie Mannerheim School. Your working time as an instructor of demanding support, mobile work pair is 38 h 15 min per week. Flat rate salary 2861.44 €/month, when the working time is 38.25 h/week. In addition, the salary includes possible additions according to KVTES. The flat rate salary may change according to competence and level of responsibility. School instructors are employed by the City of Helsinki's Education and Training Division. The place of work is determined based on the available school instructor resources at any given time and may change annually. During school holidays, school instructors and special school instructors work in the centralized holiday activities for children with intellectual disabilities and autism. During holidays, the place of work may be another school of the City of Helsinki. Summer vacation is mainly timed for the closure of the holiday activities. What does the City of Helsinki offer you? Eligibility requirement: The eligibility requirement is a vocational qualification in school guidance and morning and afternoon activity guidance, a vocational qualification as a school instructor or other suitable qualification.
