Early Childhood Education Teacher

We are seeking an early childhood education teacher for Ylitilantie daycare for a fixed-term position from 1 November 2026 to 31 July 2027. The role also includes deputy director duties. The position may continue for longer. We value your interest and experience in developing early childhood education pedagogy. As an early childhood education teacher, you are responsible for your own team’s pedagogy, assessment and development in accordance with the early childhood education plan, in cooperation with the other team members. You will also participate in the daycare’s early childhood education work and the development of its operating culture. We expect strong collaboration skills, sensitivity, and a willingness to work innovatively and as part of a community. Nurmijärvi’s early childhood education services support your work with: - Good resources for arranging support for children, with consulting special education teachers in early childhood education and childcare workers in early childhood special education. - Collaboration with early childhood education language and culture teachers. - Pedagogical support from an assistant director at some locations. - Support for work communities and teams from the early childhood education services’ own interaction specialist. - Digital agents for early childhood education. - Facility maintenance staff working in daycares to support everyday operations. - Location-specific childcare workers without group duties to strengthen substitute arrangements. The eligibility requirement is qualification under the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018), taking the transitional provisions into account. Applicants who are completing their qualification will also be considered. The position has a six-month probationary period. If necessary, the selected candidate must provide a criminal record extract under the Act on Checking the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002) and a tuberculosis assessment. Pay and terms of employment are determined by the municipal education personnel collective agreement (OVTES, section G). The position-specific salary is €3,326.61 per month. An experience supplement of 3% or 8% of the position-specific salary may also be paid, depending on the relevance of previous work experience. The application period ends on 26 October 2026 at 16:00.
