You will work in Hämeenniemi?in Hämeenlinna, Finland, within Hämeenlinna University of Applied Sciences' Sustainable Energy Systems research group. We develop sustainable energy systems and energy production solutions, intelligent energy use in built environments, and energy security in cooperation with industry, public entities and other stakeholders. Our goal is to improve energy efficiency in the built environment and to develop solutions adapted to future changing energy conditions. The role is primarily based at the Hämeenlinna campus with the possibility of partial remote work, and requires fluency in Finnish. As a Project Engineer you will participate in research and development projects, especially the EKA+ project for energy-positive areas in the Kanta-Häme region. You will contribute to the development of technical solutions, optimization methods and data management for energy-positive areas, working closely with other experts. Your duties include: developing practices for energy data handling and data management; drafting the project data management plan; preparing calculations and modelling-based strategic proposals for energy systems in Kanta-Häme; planning and implementing workshops; reporting, publishing and presenting results to different target groups. We require at least a suitable higher university degree, such as an energy engineering or other applicable engineering field (AMK) degree or a bachelor’s degree. We value experience in energy system calculations, modelling or energy data handling and strong teamwork and project work skills. Experience in workshop planning and facilitation is a plus. In addition to the EKA+ project you may later participate in other research projects, contribute to new project preparation and, as possible, teaching tasks.
