We are seeking a motivated and professional Social Worker (Sosionomi) for development work in Laajavuoren Daycare as part of Vantaa City's Early Childhood Education team. The unit has three groups and operates with parallel leadership, where one leader handles staff and the other handles pedagogy. The unit participates in ProVaka development activities. Responsibilities include implementing early childhood education within the unit, promoting children’s well-being, participation, and a safe environment, with emphasis on preventing bullying, supporting emotional and peer skills, and supporting and developing parenting. You participate in multidisciplinary teamwork and, when needed, guide families to other child and family services. Key areas: implementing early childhood education; wellbeing work including recognition of needs related to social and peer skills, wellbeing, growth and development; interaction and collaboration with families and professional communication within the team; evaluation and development of practices from a socio-pedagogical perspective. What we expect from you: knowledge of the early childhood education plan and law, cooperation skills, ability to support children’s social and peer skills and parenting strengths and challenges, experience with early childhood education methods, wellbeing, growth and development; independent and developmental work style; ability to promote community, inclusion and equality; good written and spoken Finnish.
