Trollbergets daghem is a small Swedish-speaking day care center in Roparnäs, Vaasa, with two groups: Småtrollen and Skogstrollen. The day care is located in a quiet, nature-forward environment with a large yard and its own TrollForest that stimulates and invites spontaneous and imaginative play as well as enabling varied daily physical activity. At Trollbergets day care we emphasize a versatile, nature-inspired approach where the child’s well-being is the focus. We work from the child’s needs and interests and view play as the foundation for learning, development and participation. In close cooperation with guardians we support every child’s care, upbringing and learning. The position of Early Years Teacher is responsible for planning high-quality early childhood education in the group and for the pedagogical implementation, development and evaluation of the activities. Planning is based on the children’s needs, strengths and interests. Eligibility requires qualification as a teacher in early childhood education according to §26 of the Act on Early Childhood Education (540/2018). Other qualifications and experience in early childhood education are also considered. Language requirement is good ability to use Swedish in speaking and writing. Salary for the position is 2959.26 €/month. Salary is determined according to UKTA’s grade pay system. Probation period is five months. The selected candidate must present a criminal background extract prior to starting work in accordance with law 504/2002. The Infectious Diseases Act (55 §) obliges screening for tuberculosis risk among people working with children of school age. A tuberculosis questionnaire laid out by the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) is used with interpretation guidelines. Interviews will take place in weeks 36–37. Those invited to interview bring original degree certificates and employment certificates.
