Healthcare Assistant

Join us to do meaningful work with elderly people! We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant for a temporary position at Koivukoto on Hauho from 1 Oct 2026 to 30 Apr 2027. You will work with a capable team including a nurse-team coordinator, a nurse, care assistants, a care helper and a site manager. Work is in three shifts, with ability to influence your own shifts. Koivukoto provides 24/7 long-term sheltered housing for 42 residents, divided into five mini-homes: Metso-Teerenpesä, Peipon- and Pääskynpesä, Kiurun- and Tilhenpesä. Peipon- and Pääskynpesä focus on residents with memory disorders. Each home has its own staff, but we work flexibly between homes. You will have your own home base as part of a warm work community. As a Healthcare Assistant you will be responsible for daily resident care, wellbeing, hygiene and medication administration. You also act as the primary nurse for residents assigned to you. You participate in creating care and service plans with residents and their relatives, and perform RAIl functional capacity assessments as agreed. You also act as a contact point between residents’ relatives, guardians, doctors and other partners. Each resident is seen as an individual and your work will promote wellbeing through activities and programs. We seek a positive attitude and good teamwork. Requirements include a social and health care vocational qualification and registration in Suosikki before employment begins. Previous experience with elderly care is an advantage, but the most important is genuine interest in wellbeing and rehabilitative work. Medication administration requires a valid medication handling license, which can be updated at start. Work time is 38.25 hours/week. A police background check is required for eldercare work. Salary and terms follow HYVTES or SOTE agreements. Six-month probation.
