The youth worker is responsible for directing youth individually and in groups and for supporting growth and development in accordance with age-appropriate requirements, in diverse settings such as youth centers, schools, events and trips. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to meet young people as a safe and trusted adult. The position calls for initiative, organizing skills, teamwork, a positive and proactive attitude, and the ability to respond in a timely manner and to motivate youth. It also requires mastery of methods for guiding groups and individuals, with emphasis on functional approaches.
