Mechanical Maintenance Area Supervisor

Mondi is an international paper and packaging materials manufacturer with approximately 26,000 employees worldwide. Mondi Powerflute Oy produces semi-chemical fluting from birch fibre. The board is primarily used in packaging requiring moisture resistance and strength, such as fruit and vegetable boxes. The Mondi Powerflute factory is in Kuopio and employs approximately 220 people. We are now seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Area Supervisor for Mondi in Kuopio for a fixed-term position until 31 December 2027. In this role, you will be responsible for the availability, maintenance and quality performance of machinery and equipment in a cost-effective manner. You will prepare and carry out work in your area of responsibility and ensure preventive maintenance is completed. You will also organise the servicing of spare equipment requiring refurbishment or arrange for it to be replaced with new equipment. You will contribute to improving the factory’s production efficiency and productivity and to preparing and implementing projects. You will supervise the mechanics in your area of responsibility. The successful candidate must have a suitable higher-education degree, for example a degree in mechanical engineering. Previous experience in mechanical maintenance in the process industry and SAP skills are considered an advantage. The role requires good communication and negotiation skills, initiative and English-language skills. We hope the successful candidate can start as soon as possible, but no later than December 2026.
