Engineering Manager

At Tiger Data, we are a remote-first, globally distributed team building the fastest PostgreSQL platform for transactional and analytical workloads. We are seeking an exceptional engineering leader for the Database team, owning TimescaleDB and related products. You will lead multiple teams, own the execution and roadmap, foster a bottom-up culture, stay close to the tech to help design decisions, and be a strong people leader. Hands-on experience in C and PostgreSQL internals is a plus but not required. This is a remote and full-time position. Responsibilities include leading and mentoring a globally distributed team of database internals engineers; owning team execution and roadmap; partnering with Platform Engineering to deliver Tiger Cloud experiences; engaging with high-value customers to translate experience into priorities; and setting a high bar for the organization. Requirements include 8+ years of engineering experience with at least 4+ years in people management; track record of building high-performing teams; strong depth in distributed systems or databases; familiarity with PostgreSQL internals is a plus; solid knowledge of SQL, concurrency, replication, and distributed systems; passion for reliable systems and people development.
