We are looking for a QA Lead to stand up and own quality engineering at Distance, based at our Helsinki HQ. This is your chance to build a quality function from the ground up for technology so novel, no other company has it, and with no legacy or tech debt to fight. The role sits within Distance’s software/tech initiative, partnering with hardware and systems teams to ensure robust quality from development through to ship. You will define the QA strategy, automation, and release gates, and act as the accountable owner for the question that matters at ship time: is it safe to ship? You will embed with runtime, tracking, and platform engineering teams to ensure quality is designed in, not tacked on.

Responsibilities
- Stand up and lead quality engineering for Distance Runtime: test strategy, automation, and release gates
- Be the accountable owner for ship-time QA: is it safe to ship?
- Define and own the quality model end to end from CI automation to visual regression and manual validation on reference hardware
Requirements
- Senior QA professional who has owned the test strategy for a shipped product
- Experience testing native/C++ systems and graphics- or hardware-dependent software
- Strong ability to design tests and communicate clearly
- Fluent in English; Finnish not required
