About the role

This vacancy seeks an experienced special supervisor with experience in foster care work and with individuals affected by trauma and mental health symptoms. The role is to be part of Kotipihan multidisciplinary team that provides a home-like, safe growth environment for children placed long-term in need of care. The special supervisor will bring their training, skills and strengths to the multi-professional team to support, educate and guide children with various challenges, focusing on positive pedagogy and solution-focused work. Responsibilities include acting as a reliable mentor and guardian for the child, collaborating with parents, schools and other networks, contributing to the quality of education and rehabilitation work within the team, and ensuring care and education plans are implemented. The candidate must have an AMK degree in social work (e.g., sosionomi, rehabilitation worker) and beneficial experience in substitute care. A driving license is required due to the unit’s limited public transport access. The position is full-time and permanent, with work in three shifts including weekends; two-shift arrangements may also be possible. We offer a committed team, support from a supervisor and unit manager, opportunities for professional development, a flex benefit package (400 €/yr) including sports and culture, massage, travel, and healthcare, comprehensive occupational health care and a group work rhythm and team days, plus days for development and recreation. Salary is governed by the private social services sector collective agreement (G24D) with an added availability allowance of 191 €/month; further salary increases may be earned through training and special skills. For more information contact Unit Manager Tomi Tuominen at 0503004811 (weekdays 9:00–15:00). A criminal background check as required by law for working with children will be requested, and a drug test is performed for all new hires at the initial/entry stage.
