About the role

We are seeking an early childhood education teacher for the relatively new facilities of Härkämäki Day Care Centre located in Väinölänpuisto, starting August 17, 2026. A total of 9 groups and open early childhood education operate at Rahjekatu 4. Additionally, Härkämäki Day Care Centre includes 2 pre-primary education groups at Aunela School. We expect the applicant to have good Finnish language skills, a pedagogical and child-centered approach to work, and good interaction skills. Qualification and work experience in pre-primary education are also considered an advantage. Physical activity, play, and creativity play a central role in our activities. We want to provide our children with a safe and warm learning environment where the child can learn and experience through play, movement, exploration, art, and other versatile activities. Meeting and valuing the child as a unique human being is important to us! Our day care centre is located within easy reach of public transport. Bus stops 61, 12, and 99 are near the day care centre. The distance from Turku city centre to the day care centre is approximately 4 km. Our day care centre is situated in a forested area between Naantalintie and Highway 8, making it easy to reach by bicycle, on foot, or by car. Härkämäki offers versatile outdoor opportunities, and forest trips are part of our weekly program. Come and help us create a positive and inspiring learning culture. Applicants will be interviewed during the application period. Welcome to our team! Eligibility requirements are determined according to the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) § 26 / § 27. The person selected for the position must provide the employer with a criminal record extract as referred to in Section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act (Act on the Verification of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children 504/2002). As employment benefits, the City of Turku offers, among others: - versatile training - a Föli commuter card for discounted bus travel - a Tyky-bracelet for the City of Turku's sports and cultural services To promote equality and impartiality, the City of Turku prefers anonymous recruitment. In practice, this means that in the first stage of the recruitment process, open questions in the job application should not include information such as age, native language, or gender. Although some of this information is asked for in the background data, this information is not visible to the recruiting line manager in the anonymous applicant report. The aim of anonymous recruitment is to focus attention on the applicant's professional competence and work experience. Workplace address: Rahjekatu 4, 20210 TURKU
