Chief Physician

We are currently seeking a Chief Physician for Keski-Suomen hyvinvointialue in permanent statutory position within mental health and addiction services. As Chief Physician you will lead addiction work across the region and tasks include administrative and clinical duties. You will participate in the nationwide and specialised care-level consultation activities and develop patient care pathways for addiction across cooperation with specialised care, primary healthcare and social welfare actors. The location is primarily Jyväskylä with partial remote work possibilities. Psychiatry and mental health and addiction services are integrated under one administration in Central Finland, with a full patient pathway from basic level to specialised care. We work closely with outpatient health center clinics. The addiction services are free for patients and aim to promote sobriety and prevent/treat addiction disorders. Services include low-threshold non-appointment-based activities, clinics, rehabilitation, substitution therapy assessment and implementation, and detoxification treatments. Consultation activities and Jyväskylä addiction clinic have focused on the Addiction Medicine Clinic, which includes a ward for detoxification and initiation of substitution therapies. We are currently developing equal access to services across the province and providing consultative support to doctors in both specialised and primary care units. We offer collegial support and good consultative opportunities. Our team includes psychiatrists and doctors with special certification in addiction medicine. The core of your work is smooth cooperation and division of labour with general practitioners, mental health service physicians and psychiatry.
