The role We are looking for experienced and motivated Import Declarants who wish to work in a dynamic, international and technology-oriented environment. This position is crucial to ensure smooth and compliant customs processes using state-of-the-art digital customs solutions. Main responsibilities: - Prepare export declarations for EU exports using the provided software solutions - Calculate import duties and prepare monthly invoices - Cooperate with customs authorities, including presenting customs documents for inspection, applying for special customs procedures for imports and other tax matters, and independently handling customs irregularities - Prepare all required customs declarations and carry out all customs formalities for imports and exports in compliance with applicable customs and tax regulations - Prepare operating instructions for processing import and export transactions including associated documents and collaborate with other operational departments - Handle customer inquiries and advise customers on operational customs topics Requirements: - Completed commercial apprenticeship, e.g. as a merchant for wholesale and foreign trade management or freight forwarding and logistics services or a comparable qualification - Solid professional experience in import/export customs handling and good knowledge of customs law and procedures - Experience in freight forwarding and logistics is required - Good English (at least B2) and solid German (at least B2) are mandatory - Strong communication skills and customer/service orientation - Customer-focused mindset: “The customer is king” - Proficient in MS Office - As we operate internationally, good to very good English in spoken and written form is essential - Flexibility for an varied work environment; not everything goes to plan, but together we will find the best solution - You work in a solution-oriented way, enjoy learning new things and show initiative What we offer: - A dynamic and international work environment - A permanent employment contract with development opportunities - Attractive additional benefits including company pension provisions - Opportunities for professional and personal development (Learning & Development)
