Steelwork Supervisor

Pelti- ja Rautatyö Oy is a financially stable Finnish family business founded in 1937, known for quality sheet-metal, steel and ventilation work. We produce a wide range of steel structures, including stairs, railings, steel doors, canopies, load-bearing steel structures and metal structures tailored to customer needs. Our CE-certified production and strong project expertise also enable us to deliver demanding projects. We are now looking for a Steel Construction Supervisor to strengthen our steel team in a permanent role in Hyrylä, Tuusula. You will work closely with Mika Lehtonen, the lead supervisor responsible for steel works, and the rest of our organisation. You will take independent responsibility for projects and influence how they are planned, managed and delivered. A varied role from design to delivery Your area of responsibility will take shape according to your skills and experience. Your work will include: - Planning, coordinating and delivering steel construction projects from tendering through production and installation to handover - Preparing tenders and cost estimates and monitoring the financial performance of projects - Producing working and fabrication drawings or coordinating their preparation - Scheduling and resourcing projects and coordinating work - Coordinating material procurement, production and subcontractors - Liaising with customers, designers, suppliers and the various parties at construction sites - Ensuring quality, occupational safety and project documentation - Developing working practices and project management together with the team The role combines office work, technical design and practical work. You will work close to production and projects, so you can see the concrete results of your work. We are looking for a responsible, hands-on professional You have experience in steel construction, metal-industry projects or a comparable technical environment. You understand what successful projects require in terms of planning, costs, schedules and execution. We expect you to have: - Experience in steel construction, metal production, project management or supervision - The ability to read technical drawings and understand how structures are built - Strong AutoCAD skills and the ability to prepare working and fabrication drawings; this is particularly important in the role - An organised, proactive and solution-focused approach - The ability to manage several projects and make independent decisions - Good collaboration, communication and customer service skills - Knowledge of the construction industry - A valid category B driving licence - Relevant technical education Experience in tender calculations, manufacturing CE-marked steel structures, and welding and steel construction standards is an advantage. You do not need to have everything mastered already; the most important things are suitable skills, a willingness to take responsibility and the ability to learn.
