Education Centre JEDU is seeking an hourly teacher in tourism for the period 1.10.2026-31.7.2027. You will teach vocational modules in tourism and possess expertise in hotel reception services as well as the use of common hotel reservation systems. Priority will be given to permanent employees with formal qualifications who may be subject to the joint municipal authority's adaptation measures. Your place of work will be Kalajoki, but teaching may also take place at other sites of the joint municipal authority. Official qualification requirements are determined in accordance with Section 13 of Decree 986/1998. In the absence of formally qualified applicants, an unqualified person may also be appointed to the position. Requirements: - suitable higher education degree - practical work experience in the field and in vocational education - mastery of various hotel reception tasks and the use of common hotel reservation systems - ability to engage with diverse learners in a multicultural work environment - good and positive interaction skills as well as an encouraging and developmental approach to work - ability to cooperate and flexibility - ability to teach in English if necessary - driver's license and use of own car if necessary Remuneration and terms of employment are determined according to the municipal education personnel's official and collective agreement (OVTES). The working hours are based on the annual working time of the education sector. Before assuming the position, the selected candidate must present a criminal record extract in accordance with Act 504/2002 to verify the criminal background of those working with children. The probationary period is five months.
