We are seeking a specialist in municipal financial administration to join our team on a permanent basis. As a specialist, you will serve as an expert for client municipalities on challenging accounting, financial statements, and reporting questions, and support our financial administration staff. You will work closely with accountants, chief accountants, and the service manager. Key responsibilities include participating in the preparation of municipal and group financial statements, guiding and developing State Controller’s Office reporting, preparing materials and reports supporting financial statements, solving specialized accounting issues, advising and guiding accountants and chief accountants in demanding financial administration matters, developing processes, operating procedures, and instructions, and training to strengthen expertise in financial statements, group accounting, and reporting. You will act as a substantive municipal finance expert when deep knowledge is needed in areas such as accounting special questions, group accounting, or State Controller’s reporting. We expect: suitable financial administration education, at least five years of experience in municipal accounting, strong knowledge of financial statements, group statements, and reporting to the State Controller, good understanding of municipal regulations and reporting requirements, ability to see large picture and solve complex financial administration questions, experience in training or acting as an expert, constructive, collaborative and solution-oriented working approach, fluent IT skills and readiness to learn new systems. Experience with ProEconomica and Raindance software is an asset. Flexible remote work is available, but regular work at our Kauhajoki site is expected.
