About the role

The authority Digi- and Population Register Centre (Digi- and Population Information Systems) is seeking now a SCANNER / DOCUMENT HANDLING SPECIALIST for the scanning centre in the Shared Support Services unit at the Helsinki office. The position starts as soon as a suitable person is found, and the fixed-term employment lasts until 31 December 2026. It is possible that the work continues afterwards, but that will be confirmed later. You will work full-time on weekdays from 08:00 to 16:15. The selected person will be employed by StaffPoint in a temporary assignment. Your duties include pre-processing, recognizing and preparing incoming documents for digitisation for the agency. The tasks also include digitising, indexing and archiving digitised documents. In addition, you will handle return of documents. You may also be assigned various verification tasks, such as checking the authenticity of documents and quality assurance tasks. We will train you in document handling. You will work in a group responsible for digitising incoming analogue documents for use by the rest of the agency. Through your work you will get acquainted with records of life events affecting citizens and foreigners. Our work community is supportive and motivating, and support is always available quickly. Qualifications: If you have prior experience in similar tasks, you are the person we are looking for. The job requires independence in decision-making, efficiency, accuracy and good IT skills as well as an active and proactive working approach. Our agency is continuously developing its operations, so the ability to adapt and jump into changing situations is important. Good stress tolerance and good cooperation and interaction skills help you succeed in your duties. Excellent written and spoken Finnish is required, and satisfactory knowledge of English and Swedish. The agency operates in several locations in Finland and about 1000 people work there. The Digi- and Population Information Centre promotes digitalisation, safeguards access to information and provides services related to citizens’ life events. The agency shows the direction and renews society through digitalisation and supports citizens in dealing with public administration. The aim is to make Finland a more smoothly functioning society. The duties of the Digi- and Population Information Centre include promoting digitalisation and information security, developing support services for electronic services, developing information resources and information services, authenticating and verifying documents and electronic identities, maintaining population data, confirming life events and other legal protection services. In addition, the Centre provides citizen advisory services, user support for digital services, and information management expert tasks and public administration information management services.
