Afternoon activities instructor

Join us as a substitute for Paila's afternoon clubs! We are looking for cheerful and reliable substitutes for our after‑school clubs in Helsinki. Paila arranges after‑school activities for about 300 schoolchildren across four sites in Munkkiniemi, Myllypuro and Käpylä, at two different schools. We now need more substitutes to complete our group for the 2026–2027 academic year. What is the work like? As an afternoon club instructor, your main task is to be present in the children's everyday life. The days include for example: welcoming the children after school; games, activities and physical activity; crafts and other guided activities; outdoor play; snacks; ensuring a safe and pleasant afternoon. Working hours are on weekdays from 12‑17. Substitutes can be available for single days to longer replacements, so the job fits well for a student or someone who wants flexible work. What kind of substitutes are we looking for? Prior experience with children is an advantage, but the most important is the right attitude. We hope you have: desire to work with children; activity and initiative; reliability; ability to be part of a team; willingness to join in children's games and activities; calmness and firmness when needed. With us, the instructor's task is not to follow the activities from the sidelines but to be involved, notice the children and help make their afternoon good. What do we offer?
