About the role

We are expanding our Resource Services pool with two biomedical scientists/laboratory nurses. If you enjoy working in varied laboratory environments, adapting quickly to changing situations, and expanding your expertise across different sites, a rotating standby position could be for you. The task of Resource Services is to ensure staff availability for varying absences and support smooth service delivery. As a rotating standby, you will play a key role in safeguarding laboratory operations during sudden staff needs. We are seeking two (2) biomedical scientists/laboratory nurses for a permanent/indefinite-term contract to primarily respond to urgent staffing needs of the South Ostrobothnia Welfare Area laboratories. Initial placement is in Resource Services. Duties involve rotating through laboratories in Seinäjoki, Peräseinäjoki, Ylistaro, Isokyrö, Ilmajoki and Lappajärvi as needed. The role is a two-shift position. The rotating standby role offers exposure to diverse environments, collaboration with multiple teams, and broad laboratory skills in sample collection and analytics. Training is provided, and colleagues across locations will support skill development. We value the ability to adapt quickly, an enthusiastic and flexible approach, and good collaboration and communication skills. The role requires initiative, responsibility and willingness to work in diverse teams. A qualified licensed laboratory nurse or biomedical scientist is required (Act 559/1994). A driving licence (B) and access to own car for work tasks is also required. Terms and salary are determined by the applicable SOTE agreement; starting salary is 3,166.82 EUR per month. A probation period applies. A drug test may be required for applicants. Vaccination protection as per Infectious Diseases Act §48 and TB documentation as per §55 are also required.
